Materials: cotton fabric, 1 cm thick foam, cotton thread, pins, needle, trimming for finishing, scissors, tacking thread, sewing machine.
Place the paper pattern on a double cotton fabric, pin, cut with 0.5 seam allowance. We cut out 2x the basket and 2x handles, the foam piece is only cut once, with 0.5 seam allowance
Stack the fabrics on each other; first the cotton fabric right side down, then the foam and the cotton fabric right side up. Pin all three layers and sew the edges on the sewing machine. Choose a longer stitch because of the foam.
Pin the bottom to the basket according to the pattern.
Sew the bottom on the machine.
Pin all four corners of the basket.
Beging to sew at the bottom with a 0.5cm seam allowance. Cut the edges to 0.3cm and finish with a zigzag stitch (overcast).
Turn the basket inside out, with the zigzag stitch on the inside.
Place the trimming on the outside of the basket and sew with a 0.5cm seam all around, fold the trimming at the end.
Fold the trimming inward and tack all around. Sew on the machine and remove the tacking thread.
Fold the fabric for the handles in half and toward the center. Sew both sides.
Pin the ears to the outside of the basket. Fold the handles upward and sew.
